The fabric decides the cut.

  1. Black crepe
  2. Ivory silk
  3. Embroidered trim

A portfolio concept: Hirfa Atelier is invented, and nothing here can be ordered.

We start with the fabric, not the sketch. A crepe that falls straight needs a different seam than a silk that catches light — so every piece here begins on the cutting table with the material already decided, and the design follows what it can actually do.

Fabric & care

The practical answers, before you ask.

Concept notes, written the way the atelier would write them.

Composition

Crepe pieces: polyester crepe, opaque in a single layer. Silk pieces: mulberry silk crepe de chine, always fully lined. Embroidery: cotton thread on the crepe itself.

Care

Hand wash cold or dry clean; silk and embroidered pieces dry clean only. Never tumble dry. Iron embroidery on the reverse at low heat.

Sizing

Made to order in four lengths (132–147 cm) and sizes S to XXL. A live atelier would send a measurement guide with its first reply.

Delivery

A live atelier like this one would quote 7–10 working days to make a piece and would ship from Cairo. This concept takes no orders.

14 pattern pieces. One abaya.

The Night Crepe Abaya is cut from fourteen pattern pieces. Splitting the front and back into narrower panels lets each one follow the grain, so the crepe falls straight from the shoulder instead of pulling across it.

Drawn close-up of a finished French seam on black crepe, with its line of black stitches.
A French seam: the raw edges are sealed inside, so nothing frays on the inside either.
Drawn card of thread wraps in eight colours, one for each fabric, with the gold embroidery thread.
Thread is matched to each fabric before the first cut.

Three notes from clients

Fictional quotes, written for this concept.

I asked for the Night Crepe in the longest length, 147 cm, and it arrived exactly that long.

The message a live version would send

Hello Hirfa Atelier, I would like to ask about the Night Crepe Abaya (lookbook piece 01). Could you send me the measurement guide?

This is a portfolio concept. Nothing is sent, and no number or account is linked.
